Christmas 2018

As another year races towards it’s conclusion, once again it is time to reflect on our practice, our team and the services that we provide to our community.

It has been another busy year where we have provided more medical services and treated more patients than ever. As a training practise for new GPs we have been able to meet the demand with the very able assistance of our youthful and exuberant GP registrars.

At the end of January we farewell Dr Billy Stoupas. He has been a dynamic member of our team and brought many new ideas to our practice. We wish him and his growing family our best wishes for the future

At the beginning of February we will be welcoming Dr Amanda Hammond who will be replacing Dr Billy and we very much look forward to having her join our team.

Additionally we are excited to have Dr John Porter commence work with us next January. John is a fully qualified GP and is originally from the UK. He lives locally with his young family and is enjoying the pleasures of Peninsula living. He has a wide range of general practise interests. He has a Diploma of Child Health and will be a great asset to the paediatric care we provide.

As always we are grateful for all the hard work provided by our tireless nurses and administration team. Somehow they continue to manage all the demands asked by the doctors and still keep smiling throughout.

The summer once again provides extra concerns for our ongoing health. Protection from the sun and dehydration remains critically important as does care with all water activities. It will also be a very high risk season for fires and we ask that you all take appropriate preparations to minimise potential harm.

As Christmas is noted for an opportunity for joyous friend and family gatherings, we also are mindful that it will not be the case for everyone. We have lost some of our dearest long term patients this year and know that at this time their loss will be felt greatly by many. Our thoughts and best wishes to all their family and friends.

Medical services will continue through the holiday period. We will be closed on the public holidays and there is always medical care provided by our after hour locum service Doctor Doctor on ……

We continue to be open at all other times 7 days a week with morning clinics available on Saturdays and Sundays.

A very happy Christmas and best wishes for 2019 to you all
